Winton Brookshire "The Guitar Man"'s Obituary
Winton Brookshire, 78, of Acworth, died Sunday, February 19, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Wednesday afternoon in the chapel of Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Darrell Cornette officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Brookshire was born and raised in Acworth and lived here all of his life. He was a retired employee of Coats and Clark and was of the Baptist Faith. Preceded in death by his wife, Frances Brookshire and son, Dewayne Brookshire, Winton is survived by his son, Marty (Lori) Brookshire of Pensacola, FL; sisters, Margie (Bob) Livingston of Aragon, Sue (Jerry) Corbin and Jackie (Troy) Pruitt both of Cartersville; brothers, Holland (Shirley) Brookshire of Kennesaw and Gene (Myra) Brookshire of Smyrna; 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service on Wednesday from 12:00 until 2:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home 4947 North Main St. Acworth, GA 30101 770-974-3133.
