Mr. William "Franklin" Turner, 91, of White, entered the LORD's presence on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.

Born January 8, 1934 in Marietta, Georgia, he was the son of the late John Balaam Turner Sr. and the late Fannie Branyon Kay Turner. He was a member of Woffords Crossroads Baptist Church. Franklin was raised on a farm in Marietta, the youngest of seven siblings. He completed his four-year internship at Capital City Machine Shop, then served in the Army as a vehicle mechanic stationed in Fort Polk, Louisiana during the Korean War. He retired from Delta Airlines, where he worked as a machinist for over 31 years, and where he was able to utilize his intelligence and gifts for being meticulously detailed and precise. He was known by his co-workers as Bill Turner. He married Janice Bryant in 1976 (shoutout to his niece, Brenda Irby, for introducing them!) They were married for almost 40 years until the LORD called her home in 2015. They moved from their beloved first home in Austell, Georgia in 1987, and they built a home slowly but surely at Crowe Springs in White. He was hardworking, diligent, and a problem solver. He loved to build, fix, and invent things; and he was constantly modifying something to make it better. Many a project kept him up at night as he solved many a problem. His clever creations were coined by his family as "DBF - Designed by Franklin." To spend time with him playing a card game like Phase 10 was enjoyable and sure to bring lots of laughter and fun! He was a gentle, loving, and caring man. He raised his family in church, but he became more tenderhearted and was known to start shedding tears after truly accepting Jesus as His personal Savior in his mid-60's at 2:00 on a Tuesday afternoon in the backyard sitting on a swing he built. When the song Parking Lot by Cochran & Co. came out and began to play on the local Christian radio station IBN/WCCV, it quickly became one of his favorite songs. He loved Christian music and had it playing the majority of the time all throughout his house. He loved that he "could go anywhere in the house and still hear it!" If there is one overriding message of his testimony… it's not about being a good person or good enough or obtaining perfection… We all need Jesus. Jesus' perfect sacrifice, death, burial, and resurrection made a way where there is no other way to bring us into the family of the LORD. God, in His great mercy, was faithful to the end of Franklin's life here on earth to forgive him of his sins and to reassure him of His grace, His steadfast love, and His never-ending mercy.

Franklin was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janice Lee Bryant Turner. He is also preceded in death by sister, Inez Robinson and her husband Gaylor; brother, Balaam Turner and his wife Kitty; brother, Lelon Turner; brother-in-law, Jack Holmes; brother, Carlos Turner and his wife Jean; and brother, Milton Turner.

Survivors include daughter, Jennifer Shuler and her husband Timmy, and their children: Matthew, Prestin, and Chloe Shuler; son, Daniel Turner and his wife Tina, and their children: Tyler Turner, Ashley Williamson and her husband Levi, Kinzie Turner, and Callen Turner; sister, Frances Holmes; sister-in-law; Norma Jean "Tiny" Turner; sister-in-law, Sara Turner; sister-in-law, Kathy Atkinson; and sister-in-law, Carol Bryant; Hugh Johnson and his wife Ann (Hugh was his best friend of over 80 years and they experienced countless adventures together over a lifetime of friendship); and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was loved and cherished and will be greatly missed.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Wofford's Crossroads Baptist Church with Chaplain David Ellis officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. There will be an informal visitation and fellowship from 11:00am-1:00pm prior to the service at the church, 222 Old Tennessee Highway NE, White, GA 30184.
