William "Bill" Morgan Smith, 93, of Acworth, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, June 19 ^th , 2022. He was born on August 17 ^th , 1928 in Acworth, Georgia, to the late James Lemon Smith, Sr. and Monnie Azzilee Turner Smith. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a Master Mason in Acworth Masonic Lodge #176 for over 60 years. He also served as a Deacon for New Zion Baptist Church in Acworth, Georgia for 52 years. He enjoyed fishing, playing golf, travel and watching sports- especially the Atlanta Braves.  He adored his family and was always willing to help when called upon.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mary Faith Biddy Smith who passed away in 2009. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Sallie Smith Bernheart, Jean Smith Fortson, Ann Smith Nelson, James Lemon Smith Jr., Helen Smith Couch and Lawrence Edward Smith.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Patsy Smith of Kennesaw; his daughter, Donna Lynne Smith Tidwell of Cartersville; a sister, Nancy Smith Maxwell of Acworth; 8 granchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at New Zion Baptist Church in Acworth, Georgia. Mr. Smith will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. There will be a casual visitation at the home of Bill and Faith Smith on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Collins Funeral Home in Acworth from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  Burial will follow after the service at New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
