Obituary

William Charles  "Bill" Miller, age 86 of Acworth, Georgia passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2017, following a period of declining health.

Born February 22, 1930 in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was the son of the late  William Miller and Goldie Barnes Miller. Mr. Miller had served in the United States Navy during the Korean War, having been stationed in Key West, Florida and San Diego, California.  He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the Expert Pistol Medal.

Mr. Miller had retired in 1989 after 26 years of service with Lockheed-Martin in Marietta.  He loved camping, hunting, trout fishing and Bluegrass Music.  Mr. Miller was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Survivors include HIS WIFE of 62 years, Ellen Irene Fowler Miller of Acworth, Ga.; SON, Brett S. Miller (Cindy) of Acworth, Ga.; GRANDDAUGHTERS, Kasey McFarland (Adam) of Jasper, Ga.; Kelly Partin (Jeff) of Talking Rock, Ga.; GREAT-GRANDSON, Clay Thomas McFarland of Jasper, Ga.;  Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:30 a.m., Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the Collins Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Rex Cox will officiate with the interment to follow at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton with Military Honors by the United States Navy.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Wednesday evening, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
