William M. "Bill" Morris, Sr., 86, of Mableton, formerly of Acworth, died Saturday, September 30, 2017.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Tuesday afternoon in the chapel of Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Lord officiating.  Mr. Morris will be cremated following the funeral.  Mr. Morris was born in Acworth and served his country in the US Army National Guard.  He retired from the Maintenance Department of Kennestone Hospital.  He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Mableton and helped to build Glade Road Baptist Church.  Mr. Morris was an ordained deacon and minister.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Morris and son, Trevor Morris and is survived by his daughter, Lorrie Gooden and her husband, Doug of Austell; son, William M. "Billy" Morris, Jr. and his wife, Amanda of Villa Rica; 2 grandchildren, Evan Morris and Shannon Morris; 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 on Monday evening  at Collins Funeral Home 4947 North Main St. Acworth, GA 30101 770-974-3133.
