Dr. Walter Krickich of Acworth passed away on March 24, 2016 at Tranquility Hospice, Marietta. His beloved wife Alise and sons Zak and Alec survive him. His devoted parents Walter and Julianne Krickich, Sister Bonnie Sich, and niece and Godchild Alexis Sich of Hermitage, PA, also survive him.
Dr. Krickich earned his bachelors degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa and went on to earn his doctorate of optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN.
Dr. 'K', as he was often referred to, began private practice 30 years ago. Current locations include Cartersville and Acworth, GA. He always valued his partners, employees and patients and considered them family.
Walter loved Jesus. He also loved his family and friends and will be remembered as one to bring people together. His favorite past time was playing golf, especially with his son. Among his fond memories was lending his talent and expertise for his country and the world at the Olympic Games in 1996. He served as chairman of the Olympic Vision Committee fulfilling his dream of working with the greatest athletes in the world.
A celebration of Walter's life will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Cedarcrest Church in Acworth at 6:30 PM. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer memorial donations in honor of Dr. Walter Krickich to the Winship Cancer Institute.
