Mrs. Hilton was proceeded in death by her husband, Steve L Hilton, and her first husband of 46 years, James E. Wheeler, along with her parents Lester and Ruby Curtis, and a brother Jimmy Curtis. She is survived by a brother, Dwight Curtis of Waleska, and sisters Jewell Long (Robert) of Acworth, and Cuddell Ollis of Fort Payne, Alabama. She is also survived by her children – Ralph Edward (Diane) Wheeler, Kathie (Rev. Larry) Kelley all of Talking Rock, Wayne Wheeler, and Lynn Wheeler of Acworth, Step children Betty Jean Carlisle and Bobby Wheeler of Cartersville, Bridgette (Don) Stephens of Marietta. She has 16 grandchildren and 3 step grandchildren along with their children and grandchildren.
Virginia owned Little Brook Horse Farm. She loved gardening and cooking, and shared her favorite dishes with others, especially pound cakes and chicken casseroles. She was an excellent seamstress who clothed her family through the years with the best of tailor-made garments and provided homemade pillow cases for many who were confined to bed. Her greatest joy was giving to others, and with these attributes she fulfilled many of the requirements of the Proverbs 31 virtuous woman. She was an active member of Park Street Baptist Church and the Kennesaw chapter of the Eastern Star.
