Obituary

Vickie Lynn Stanford, 56, of Kennesaw, died Friday, February 5, 2016.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Thursday afternoon in the chapel of Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Marlon Longacre officiating.  A native of Jacksonville, FL, Vickie had lived in Kennesaw for most of her life.  She had worked for Prime Inc. for 8 years where this 4'11" lady was a truck driver working alongside her husband Bill. Vickie was employed by Walmart for 14 years and was a department manager there. She played a big part in the current laws in regard to women's rights and spousal abuse. Vickie also loved and did charity work thru Walmart for the Children's Miracle Network. Her grandchildren were her passion and she loved motorcycles. Vickie was preceded in death by daughter Amy Winn and father Mac McDaniel. She is survived by her husband, Bill Stanford of Kennesaw; children, Henry Russell Smith III of Rockmart, Brandy Worley of Marietta and Charity Thomas of Kennesaw; 13 grandchildren; mother Nancy McDaniel of Acworth; siblings Pamela Colston of Douglasville, Mike McDaniel of Adairsville and Trisha Duncan of Acworth also survive.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The Children's Miracle Network Hospitals @ www.childrensmircalenetworkhospitals.org. The family will receive friends on Thursday prior to the funeral service from 12:00 until 2:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home 4947 North Main St. Acworth, GA 30101 770-974-3133.
