Vera Beth Thompson, 77, of Acworth, died Thursday, December 15, 2016.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 Sunday afternoon in the chapel of Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Morrell officiating.  Burial will follow in Pine Ridge Memorial Park.  Mrs. Thompson was born in Greer, South Carolina but had lived in Acworth since 1985.  She retired as a Nursing Assistant, having been employed at Ross Memorial Health Care, Shoreham Convalescent Center, and Hill Haven Convalescent Center.  She was a member of the Pentecostal Faith.  Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Jesse H. "James" Thompson of Acworth; sons, Barron Scott Thompson and Myron Stephen (Amy) Thompson of Acworth; grandchildren, Crystal Thompson Reese, Steven Thompson, Sharon Petry, Sheree Thompson, Sarah Thompson, Heather Bryans, and Rachel Bryans; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Marian Lucille Cannon of Powder Springs; brother, Robert Sheehan, Jr. of Woodstock; several nieces and nephews also survive.  The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2:00 until 6:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home 4947 North Main St. Acworth, GA 30101 770-974-3133.
