Tommy Ferrell Shirley of Kennesaw passed away on April 7 ^th , 2021. Tommy was 79.

Tommy is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sheila C. Shirley of Kennesaw, son Scott Shirley (Teresa) of Acworth and daughter Stacy Shirley (Kate) of Jasper.

He is also survived by grandchildren, Jesse Shirley of Atlanta, Whitley Shirley of Rockmart, Rachael Shirley of Acworth, Michael Camp of Marietta as well as nephew Justin Shirley of Powder Springs and niece Casey Shirley Kincad of Buchanan.

Tommy is preceded in death by his parents, L.L. Shirley and Gladys Logan Shirley of Acworth, as well as brother Ronnie O'Neal Shirley of Paulding County.

Tommy attended Acworth School and played football. He joined the US Navy in 1958, retiring in 1978. After the Navy Tommy started his own long-haul trucking company, TFS Trucking. He worked as an owner-operator for over 30 years, mostly driving from Georgia to California and back. Tommy was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Woodstock. Through all these experiences Tommy also leaves behind many, many Friends.

The family will receive visitors at Collins Funeral Home in Acworth, GA on Monday, April 12th, 2021, from 11:00AM till 1:00PM with a funeral service following at 1:00PM in the Chapel at Collins Funeral Home. The service will be live streamed through the Collins Funeral Home Facebook page found at https://www.facebook.com/AcworthFuneralHome . Burial will immediately follow the service at Liberty Hill Cemetery, Acworth, GA where he will be buried close to his Mother, Father and Brother.

He was a tough son of gun and one of the last hard men. He will be sorely missed.
