Toby had a heart of gold. He was a selfless individual who poured into people's lives without even realizing it. He would see a need and just do. He was a gifted "tinkerer" and could fix anything and had a tool for every job. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, riding ATV's, history, and was his grandchildren's biggest fan. Toby's favorite place in the world was Temagami, Ontario on Jumping Cariboo Lake surrounded by his family, friends and especially his grandchildren.
Toby is survived by his wife, Diane Takayama; son, Brian Koehler-Sloan and son-in-law, Bower Koehler-Sloan; son, Kevin Koehler and daughter-in-law, Melissa Koehler; daughter, Corrine Fraser; grandchildren, Brad, Hunter, Jacob, Joshua, and Kenzie; mother, Toyo Sasaki Takayama; sister, Keiko Takayama; sister, Chiyo Grant and brother-in-law, Douglas Tage; brother, Joe Takayama and sister-in-law, Julie Takayama; brother, Jin Takayama; 16 nieces and nephews; and his beloved black Labrador Callie.
