Shirley Jean McMickle, 84, of Kennesaw, Georgia, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026. A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Shirley lived a life marked by kindness, dedication, and quiet strength.

For many years, Shirley served as a customer service manager with Walmart, where she was known for her patience, compassion, and unwavering commitment to helping others. Her gentle spirit and warm smile left a lasting impression on coworkers and customers alike. After retiring, she continued to pour her love into her family, who were the center of her world.

Shirley is survived by her children, Lecia Parrott of Marietta, Walter McMickle Jr., and Cherie Spearman; her grandchildren, Michael Ogburn, Lee Spearman, Candice Pucci, and Dale Spearman; and her great‑grandchildren, Benjamin Ogburn, Layla Ogburn, and Amelia Pucci. She is also survived by her sister, Margaret Brinson, her sons‑in‑law Michael Parrott and Kenneth Spearman, and her niece Frances Eaton.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter McMickle Sr., as well as her parents, Tom Hunter and Leirdene Barefield. Though she has left this world, the memory of her warmth and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

Funeral services for Shirley will be held on Friday at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Collins Funeral Home in Acworth. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Rollins Hills Memory Gardens, also in Acworth. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
