Shirley M. Greene, 90 years old, of 4201 Wildflower Pond, Acworth, GA went to be with our Heavenly Father as she was surrounded by her family on August 12, 2018.  Born to Herman Robinson Bisbee and Thelma Essie Godwin on May 26 1928, Shirley joined her brother Calvin Hugh Bisbee, in Jacksonville, FL.  She became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the young age of 15 and when 19 married Jack Gordon Elson of Michigan.    They welcomed daughters Sandra LaVonne, Kim Renee, Penny Maxine, Bonny Christine and Carol Gay.

Her faith in the doctrine of her church and her hard work got her through many adversities while raising her children almost entirely single handedly.  When they were nearly all grown, she moved the family to Utah, but ultimately went back to her beloved Florida.  Many years later she married her childhood sweetheart Karl Raymond Greene of Pennsylvania and he joined her in Florida where the majority of her family lived.  Shirley lived another 19 years after his demise.  She was preceded in death by granddaughter Carolee Lanette Kirk.  She is survived by her 5 daughters, sons-in-law David Asa Jacobson, Everett Lawrence Dunham, David Ross Meldrum, Jay Hartley Menges, 27 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She was well loved by all who knew her as her sweetness and kindness won their hearts.  She included everyone in her life, ex-spouses, step-grandchildren and wanderers from time to time.  She never turned down an opportunity to serve her Heavenly Father and in that regard served as a temple worker for 16 plus years in the Orlando Temple.  She proclaimed her love for the Gospel regularly and often especially in the birthday poems to her family.

The viewing will be at 1 pm followed by the funeral at 2 pm, on August 14, 2018 at 5055 Holt Rd, Acworth, GA.   In Florida there will be a memorial at 11 am on August 18, 2018, at 1065 Emerson Drive NE Palm Bay, FL.  Afterwards, there will be a graveside service, 2:30 pm at the LaGrange Mims Cemetery, 1635-1661 Old Dixie Highway, Titusville, Florida.
