Obituary

Sarah Frances Nichols, 80, of Acworth, Georgia, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family
on Thursday, May 27, 2026. She was born on February 16, 1946, in Calhoun, Georgia, to Roy and
Martha Payne.
Sarah was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother. Sarah was also a hairdresser for 58 years and
owner of Sarah's Style Shop. During that same time Sarah was also a Mary Kay beauty consultant
for over 40 years. She attended and was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Acworth. She was
an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 5408. She and Danny (husband) sang and
played in a band, which performed at the VFW and other venues.
A true redhead in spirit, Sarah was independent, strong, and steadfast. When challenges arose, she
faced them head-on with determination and resilience. She cherished time spent with her family,
especially Sunday evenings filled with home-cooked meals and laughter. Sarah had a generous and
compassionate heart, always willing to help others in need—even those she did not know. Her deep
love for the Lord was evident throughout her life, and her warm smile and joyful laughter brightened
the lives of those around her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Daniel Nichols; her parents; and her siblings,
Ruth Hulsey, Max Payne, Faye Dover, and David Payne.
Sarah is survived by: Son, Charles Brand, Daughter, Ramona Bray (James), Her stepchildren,
William Edward Nichols and Jerrie Lynn Brophy and grandchildren. Her siblings, Ronnie Payne and
Patricia Weaver (Danny). Her grandchildren, Tena Rebecca Swett (Joel), Jessica Marie Tatum,
James Corey Bray, and great grandchildren; Hunter and Natalia Tatum and Brayden, Grayson, and
Braylen Swett,
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Collins Funeral Home in
Acworth with Pastor Frank Nichols officiating. Interment will follow at Rolling Hills Cemetery in
Acworth. Visitation will be held at 11 am, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
