Sara Kate Fishback Hardegree's Obituary
Sara Kate Fishback Hardegree of Acworth, Georgia died on Monday, June 4, 2018. She was 88. Funeral services will be held at 9:30am on Friday, June 8th at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Harmon B Hardegree, Jr, her parents, two brothers and one sister. She is survived by her sons Gary M. Hardegree (Kate) of Amherst, Massachusetts; Harmon B Hardegree III (Judy) of Powder Springs, Georgia; Steven Scot Hardegree of Acworth and three grandchildren, Laura Dorfman Hardegree, Caitlin Marie Hardegree and Harmon Berry Hardegree IV. Sara was born in Kingston, Georgia on July 14, 1929 to John Francis Fishback and Dovie Ward Fishback. She was a military wife and traveled the world in support of her husband and family. When her sons were younger, she was an area circulation manager for The Atlanta Newspapers and all three had paper routes delivering newspapers on their bicycles. She was a breast cancer survivor and took up the game of tennis in her early fifties playing both ALTA and USTA out of Kennworth Park. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and bird watching.
