Ruth McPherson Minter, age 70, of Taylorsville, GA (formerly of Acworth, GA) peacefully passed away Sunday, August 21, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Acworth, Mrs. Minter lived in Cobb County for most of her life before moving to Taylorsville, GA, 10 years ago. She was a DIY enthusiast and skilled artisan, creating everything from beautifully smocked dresses to the home of her dreams with her bare hands.  Mrs. Minter was a devoted Christian who shared her faith through example.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening and making fresh biscuits whenever someone was hungry for one.

Mrs. Minter was one of 14 children born to Leo P. and Kathryn McPherson, and is survived by her husband, David Minter, Taylorsville, GA; daughter and son-in law, Amanda & Mark Eagle, Johns Creek, GA; and son, Wesley Minter, Seattle, WA; step grandson, Seth Eagle, Johns Creek, GA; 7 siblings and in-laws, Sarah Ellen Butterworth, Rev. Gerald & Judy McPherson, Linda Stanton, Nelda Adams, Dr. Rex & Jessica McPherson, Kathy Motti and Donna Strickland; sisters and brother-in-law, Joan & Sherman McLemore, and Wilma Minter.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary Children's Home.

Services will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 10:30am at Cooper's Furnace, 1052 Old River Rd. SE, Cartersville, GA 30121.  Burial of cremains will be in the Georgia National Cemetery, 11:30am on October 5, 2022.
