Ruby Lee Hartsfield Biddy, 90, of Acworth, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, August 2 at New Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Howard and Rev. Rex Cox officiating.  Burial will follow at New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

Ruby was a member of New Zion Baptist Church for over 70 years.  She was a hardworking, and loving mother.  She raised her five children along with "half of the other kids in the neighborhood".  When she wasn't serving her family or church, you could find her in the garden or quilting.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, William Everett Biddy; son, Jeff Biddy; 2 grandchildren, Cindy Dickerson and Benjamin Walter Biddy; father, Irving Hartsfield; mother, Ethel Griffin Hartsfield; sisters, Arlissa Moss, Mary Simpson, Gertrude White, Charlotte Wooten, Eva Mae Jones; brothers, John Hartsfield, David Hartsfield, Hubert Hartsfield, Max Hartsfield, Tony Hartsfield; and her special brother-in-law, Bill Smith.

Ruby is survived by her children, Anne (Jeff) Southern, Walter Biddy, Glen (Angie) Biddy, and Joan (Vann) Mobley; sister, Gladys Johnson;  7 grandchildren, Kara Dillard, Rett Mobley, Matthew and Will Southern, Eli Biddy, Trista Biddy and Savannah Payton; 6 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Serving as pallbearers, Rett Mobley, Matthew Southern, Will Southern, Eli Biddy, Sam Martin and Brandon Coker.

The family will receive friends at Collins Funeral Home on Thursday, August 1 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Online condolences may be expressed at www.collinsfuneralhome.org

Following the services at New Zion Baptist Church, a meal will be provided at the Zion Hill Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 1101 Mission Rd., SW, Cartersville, GA 30120 .
