Mr. Roy Gerald Beard, age 84, of Kennesaw, GA, died Wednesday, August 11, 2021. Gerald was born January, 24, 1937 in Buford, GA, the son of Roy Elbert and Florence Jones Beard. He was a member of Lost Mountain Church of God. Gerald retired from Lockheed-Martin as an aviation mechanic after 21 years service. He also worked for Carl Black Buick GMC for a number of years in retirement.

Surviving are his wife, Joan DeLee Beard; his daughters and sons-in-law, Desiree Dawn and Steve Sims of Douglasville, GA; April Beth and Leo Smith of Elberton, GA; Sandy Kay and Keith Jones of Knoxville, TN; Pam Coleman of Temple, GA; Cindy Petty of Villa Rica, GA; Kim and Scott Langford of Madison, GA and Stacy and Kurt Wilson of Hiram, GA; his brother and sister-in-law, Ted and Mona Beard of Brentwood, TN and his sister-in-law, Charlotte Beard of Douglasville, GA; 26 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Reverend Neal Beard.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 14 at 2 pm at the Collins Funeral Home Chapel in Acworth with Pastor Keith Bates officiating. Interment will follow on Sunday, August 15 at the Gum Log Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Kite, GA. The family will receive friends Friday, August 13 from 6:30 until 8:30 pm and Sunday, August 14 from 12 Noon until the service hour at Collins Funeral Home, 4947 N. Main Street, Acworth, GA 30101.
