Ronnie Gene
Kennedy
Apr 27, 1954 — Dec 5, 2025
Acworth
Ronnie Gene Kennedy, 71 of Acworth, gained his wings on December 5, 2025, taking a
piece of the Kennedy family's heart with him to heaven.
Ronnie was born April 27, 1954, to Laburn Ardell and Mary Lee Kennedy in Marietta,
GA. He was a lifelong resident of Acworth attending Acworth Elementary, Awtrey Middle
and North Cobb High Schools. He worked at Atlantic Steel until he joined his brother,
Jimmy, at Kennedy's Body Shop. Ronnie later went to work at Day's Chevrolet as an
auto body technician then had a brief stint with Candy Apple Customs before returning
to Day's.
Ronnie was a devoted and loyal dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, son and friend who
always showed up for those he loved and cared about. He was kind, caring, fun, witty,
loving and always there for his family but wasn't afraid to put you in your place or tell
you what he thought though he would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. His
daughter, Christe, and grandson, Matthew, were his entire world. He was beyond proud
of both of them and worked really hard to make sure they were taken care of and had all
their needs met. One of his favorite past times was going to watch Matthew play
baseball and maybe giving the umpires a little hell along the way. He also enjoyed
watching NASCAR and drag racing, going to classic car shows and spending time with
his family and friends.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents: Laburn Ardell and Mary Lee Kennedy,
siblings: Dural (Toby) Kennedy, Junior Kennedy, Jimmy Kennedy, Hazel Collins and
Rosie Johnston.
Ronnie is survived by his daughter: Christe' Kennedy of Dallas, grandson: Matthew
Talbert, sisters: Doris Truitt (Laymon), Annette Wigley, Carolyn Gasaway (Kenny) and Nancy
Hughes (Tony) all of Acworth and former spouse: Karen Munoz of Dallas. He is also
survived by many nieces and nephews.
Ronnie will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5pm-8pm on Sunday December 14, 2025, at Collins
Funeral Home. A service to celebrate and honor Ronnie's life will be held in the chapel
on Monday December 15, 2025, at 2pm. Burial will follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery in
Acworth.
