Ronald Francis Vanderberg's Obituary
Ronald Francis Vanderberg, 81, of Acworth, died Wednesday, February 6, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Monday afternoon in the chapel of Collins Funeral Home. Monsignor Henry Gratz will officiate. Interment Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, FL. A Michigan native, Mr. Vanderberg retired from the US Navy after 24 years of service. He then became a master craftsman in building and architecture and was known and respected throughout the United States for his talent and abilities. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church. Mr. Vanderberg was preceded in death by his wives, Shirley Cody Vanderberg in 1980 and Anna Armenti Vanderberg in 2017. Surviving are his children, Wade Vanderberg of Escanaba, MI, Clint Vanderberg, Susie Vanderberg, and John Vanderberg, all of Acworth, Jackson York of Tyler, TX, Valerie York of Acworth, and William York of Arlington, TX; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; siblings, Jennett, Gail, and Theresa; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 on Sunday evening at Collins Funeral Home 4947 North Main St. Acworth, GA 30101 770-974-3133.
