Rev. Robert "Bob" Wardlaw, DD, 81, of Woodstock died Saturday, December 23, 2017. Funeral Services will be 2:00PM Friday, December 29, 2017 at Marietta Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Cofer and the Rev. David Cooper officiating. Interment will follow in the Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery. Bro. Wardlaw was born in Ashville, NC, moved to Greenville SC and has lived in Georgia since 1972. In 1957, he attended school at the Tennessee Temple University where he earned his Doctors Degree and started his Preaching/Pastoral ministry in 1961. During his years of ministry, he taught at Tabernacle
Baptist College, became a missionary to Brazil through BIMI, started a church in Maggie Valley, NC, pastored Spring Street Baptist Church in Smyrna GA for 23 years and has helped several churches through preaching and prayers. Bro. Wardlaw, a true man of God through his ministry in service for the Lord. Many fond memories he has bestowed in the hearts of everyone he has met. Survivors include his wife of 62 yrs: Carolyn Wardlaw, Woodstock; Children: Crandale Wardlaw, Powder Springs; Mark Wardlaw, Douglasville; Rene Wardlaw, Woodstock and Terry (Denese) Wardlaw, Kennesaw; 9 Grand Children; 10 Great Grand Children; and 3 Nieces also survives. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00pm Thursday December 28 at Marietta Funeral Home 915 Piedmont Rd., Marietta, GA 30066 770-422-1234.
