Richard  "Dick" Datz, Sr., 80, of Marietta died Thursday, August 3, 2017. A Celebration of Life will be Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 10:30 am in the chapel of Marietta Funeral Home with Dr. Wayne Fain officiating. Interment will follow at 12:30 pm in Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.

Mr. Datz  served Post Korean War in the United States Marine Corps. He was a volunteer with Tranquility Hospice at Kennesaw Mountain and was a member of Kiwanis International. He was also a World traveler, having been on over 50 cruises. Mr. Datz worked at The Wine Shop at Parkaire where He enjoyed talking and sharing stories with the customers.

Mr. Datz is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Muriel Datz and is survived by his spouse Felicidad Torres-Gomez of Marietta; Daughters, Tina Burns of Woodstock, Sabrina Short of Canton and Valarie Gasgarth of Roswell; sons, Richard Datz, Jr. of Lawrenceville and Stephen Datz of Macon; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions made be made in honor of Mr. Datz to Tranquility Hospice at Kennesaw Mountain, 475 Dickson Ave NW, Marietta, GA 30066.
