Ramazan Erjan "John" Saltik lost his battle with prostate cancer on the morning of November 15th. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Towne Saltik, his children Monique and Ryan. He has 5 grandchildren, Ravenna, Brianna and Zachary Payne by his daughter and Ava and Sam Saltik by his son and daughter-in-law Rebekah.

Born in Istanbul, Turkey, John left his home and his parents Wahib and Lutifyé to come to school in the United States in 1964. He graduated from the School of Engineering at the University of South Carolina in 1969. He and Towne married in 1969 and moved to Georgia to work at Western Electric. He remained with that company through several changes - to AT&T to Lucent Technologies, from which he retired in 1998.

Some of his favorite hobbies include playing tennis and photography. He loved taking pictures of flowers and sunsets at the beach. He loved going to lunch with his friends and eating, especially Mexican food. Most of all, he loved spending time with and spoiling his grandchildren.
