Myra Brookshire, 82 of Acworth, passed away Friday December 20, 2024.   A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday December 28, in the Chapel of Collins Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Myra was born February 24, 1942 in Talladega, Alabama to R. A. and Sara Milam.  She enjoyed gardening, working puzzles, thrift stores, family reunions, the penny slots in Cherokee and front-porch swinging.

Myra was a loving wife to Gene and caring mother to her children and step-children.  She was preceded in death by her parents R.A. and Sara Milam, brother Terry Milam, son Barry Logan and son-in-law Wesley Kay.

Myra is survived by husband Gene Brookshire, sister Ramona Putnam, children: Sandy Kay, Diane (Dennis) Underwood, Terry (Christine) Brookshire, Jill (Duncan) Dunlop, Vicky (Ryan) Lee, Kris Hall and Jody Brookshire; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and countless family and friends.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Trinity Hospice, as well as the staff of Evergreen Memory Care at Arbor Terrace, for all the love and excellent care shown not only to Myra, but her family as well.
