Mildred Hill Long after a blessed life of 94 years, will be laid to rest with her late husband, The Reverend Horace M. Long at Shady Grove Baptist Church cemetery in Acworth.  Born March 12, 1925 in Cartersville Ga. she attended the Atco community school and while living there she met the love of her life, Horace Long who was working at the Goodyear mill. They were together for 67 years, married March 28 ^th 1942 and had three children, Genevieve Long Hobgood  (Doyle) of Acworth, Tommy Lee Long, (Belinda) of Kennesaw, and Monty Dale Long , Arden N.C.  She had eight grandchildren and Nine great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 at the Collins Funeral home in Acworth on Wednesday August 7 ^th , and the funeral service will be Thursday August 8 ^th at 11 am at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Acworth. She will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the funeral. Pallbearers will be Tommy Long Jr. Dale Hobgood, Scott Hobgood, Kevin Long, Justin Long and Jeff Hester… Honorary Pallbearers are: Brad and Bruce Abecrombie ...Conducting the service will be Reverends Stacy Smith and Jerry Sims….
