Michael J. Skelton, 69, of Acworth, passed away March 6, 2022.  Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, March 14 in the Chapel of Collins Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in the Kennesaw City Cemetery.

Mike loved to be with his family, no matter what they were doing. Whether it be to a softball/baseball tournament for one of the great nieces or nephew, to a marching band/winter guard competition for another great niece, a trip to Indiana, to the beach or mountains or even just dozing off on a loved ones couch - he just loved being with family. He enjoyed trout fishing, camping, flying simulators, collecting guns and pocket watches, and watching old western movies. He believed if it wasn't chocolate cake, a chocolate chip cookie or a 3 Musketeers bar, then it wasn't worth getting a dessert. He was very giving and made sure his loved ones were being taken care of. His eyes lit up when he was called Uncle Mike, even by the sports families that had came to know him. He touched so many hearts and will be greatly missed by all the knew him.

Mike is survived by sisters, Debbie (Joe) Bean of Oakland City, ID and Susan (Fred) Kell of Loganville; nephew, Jason (Carla) York of Kennesaw; nieces, Angie Bean of Mackey, ID, Jill Morris and Stephanie (Garth) Plummer both of Loganville and Amy (Bill) Masters of Francisco, ID; stepmother, Shirley Skelton of Oakland City, ID; step-brother & sisters, Danny, Laura and Linda; great nieces and nephews, J. J., Kara, Lindsey, Brianna, Ethan, Savannah, Avery, Tyler, Sam, Josh and Katie.  The family will receive friends Sunday, March 13, 4:00-7:00pm, Collins Funeral Home, 4947 N.
