Mrs. Megan Rose Johnson, age 87, of Powder Springs, GA passed away Thursday, March 23, 2023.
Mrs. Johnson was born on November 23, 1935 in Guyana to the late Mr. Cecil Carrington and the late Mrs. Sophia Moore Carrington. Megan worked as a telephonist with Fort Canje Hospital. She attended New Amsterdam, Berbice Commercial School. She enjoyed going to church, sewing, gardening, singing, reading, cooking, and dancing. She was a very giving and loving person. She was a member of the Lutheran Church Choir. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Clifford Johnson; sisters: Claris Carrington, Doreen Carrington, Una Sanford, Sheila Rose, and Joyce Carrington; sisters-in-law, Gloria Hart and Emma Floy; brothers-in-law, Leslie Hart, Viscount Hart, Neil Sanford, and Harry Rose.
Survivors include her Brother: Robert Carrington (wife Philomena) of New York. Children: Stanley Clarke, Mollie Johnson, Ian Johnson of New York; Sharon Johnson, Lois Johnson, Sharlene Johnson, and Michelle Wynter of Georgia; Camille Morrison, and Clifford Johnson of New Jersey; and Garfield Johnson of Barbados, "Adopted daughter": Beverly Erskine of Guyana and others. Grandchildren: Eschalla and Shonette Clarke of Delaware; Stanita Jackson of Virginia; Kempton Rodney of Florida; Claude Johnson, Tiffany Wynter, Tiffon Wynter, Glen Narine, Shaniqa Duffan, Ashley Johnson, of Georgia; Asherah Johnson, and and Kerrian Johnson of Boston; Ashanti Johnson, Don Johnson, Aneka Johnson, Nova Johnson, and Keishawn Johnson of New York; Allen Morrison, Shevon Morrison, April Jones, and Kayla Johnson of New Jersey; Garrielle Johnson, and Garian Johnson of Barbados. Great-grandchildren: Ryan and Haley Clarke of Delaware; Kaya and Riley Jackson of Virginia; Sahvanna Rodney, and Macayla Morrison of Florida; Ethan, Reynna, Evan Matthew of Boston; Don Johnson, and Adonis Johnson of New York; Ariela Jones, Amaya Jones, Madlyinn Morrison, Jahmir Snead, and Sarae Snead of New Jersey; Luna Narine, Luka Narine, and Snoh Duffan of Georgia. Sisters-in-law: Waveney Stanton (husband Patrick) of Guyana; brothers-in-law, Derick Hart (wife Joyce), and Vibert Hart (wife Pamela) of Guyana. Daughters in law: Vonetta Johnson, Folake Johnson, Shellon Johnson, and Angie Ramoutar. Sons in law: Arnold Morrison, and Keith Miller. Grandchildren-in-law: Kenneth Jackson, Mitchelle Rodney, Bradley Piggee, Angelica Narine, Dekendrick Duffan, Roderick Matthew, Amma Ntoso, and Andre Snead. "Adopted grandchildren": Shania Benons, and Amariah and Azariah Harmon of Guyana, and Naomi Chatman of Ohio. Step Grand Kids: Aiyanna Carney, Jamari Atkinson, Quinton Robert, Timothy Roberts, KiAndre Snead, and Kayden Miller. Nieces and nephews: Michael Harry, Jewell Hall, Marcia Carrington, Kimberley Lewis, Felicia Adams, Ronda Carrington, Pretha Wilson, Charmaine Thomas, Leslyn Ross, Alison Hart, Bevon Hart, Debbie Corlet, Dawn Carrington, and all her many more best nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Friends: Urla Degroot, Maureen Tenpow, Coreen Harper, Joy Trim, and David Floy .
Viewing and Service will be held Monday, April 10, 2023 beginning at 11:00AM from Mighty Fortress Lutheran Church. Entombment to follow at Paulding Memorial Gardens.
In Lieu of Flowers donations can be made to the family (Zelle to 404-213-0395) for the purchase of a bench and tree in memory of Mrs. Johnson.
