Mary Anne Godwin was born on October 7, 1942. She was 80 years old when she died on October 26, 2022.

She was a native and resident of Camilla Georgia for most of her life, relocated and lived in Acworth, Georgia for many years before recently relocating to Lees Summit, Missouri.

Mrs. Godwin earned an education degree from Valdosta State College and taught elementary school in her earlier years. She was a loving wife who supported her husband in operating a family-owned grocery business in Camilla. Her primary focus was caring for her family and extending compassion and love to others she met throughout her life.

She was a servant in the kingdom, read her Bible daily, and a member of the Powers Ferry Road, Church of Christ in Marietta, Georgia.

Mrs. Godwin was preceded in death by her father, Frederick William Nevels, mother, Frances Virginia Nevels, and husband, Eli Lavell Godwin.

Survivors include her son, William Eli Godwin, daughter, Amy Godwin Dies, grandchildren Wyatt Godwin, Angel Godwin Fultz, Meredith Godwin, Garrett Godwin, great grandchildren, Nolan Fultz, and sister, Susan Nevels Palmer.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday November 12, 2022 in the Chapel of Collins Funeral Home, 4947 N. Main St., Acworth, GA 30101 with Tim Smelser officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow in the Rolling Hills Memory Gardens.
