Martha "Mot" Salmond, 76, of Woodstock, died Sunday January 24, 2016.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 28th at 1:00pm at Sandy Plains Baptist Church with Dr. Don Mason officiating.  Burial will follow in Sandy Plains Baptist Church Cemetery.  Mrs. Salmond was born in Thomaston, GA.  She worked as a teller at Wells Fargo before retiring.  She was a member of the "Young at Heart" group at Sandy Plains Baptist Church.   She is preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Thrasher and sisters, Mary Holbrook, Dot Adkisson, and Jo Evelyn Stephens. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Beth Salmond, of Cumming; sons, Bob Salmond (Dana), of Woodstock, and Mike Salmond, of Cartersville; sister, Sybil Parrish, of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Jacob, Sara, Lilly, Jake, and C.J.; and several nieces and nephews.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 27th from 4-7pm at Marietta Funeral Home.  The body will lie-in-state at the church from 12:30-1pm prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sandy Plains Baptist Church at 2825 Sandy Plains Rd, Marietta, GA 30066.  For online condolences, please visit www.mariettafuneralhome.org .
