Rev. Mae McBride, 87, of Cartersville, died Saturday, June 23, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 Tuesday afternoon in the chapel of Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Clinton Fields and the Rev. J. A. Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Kennesaw City Cemetery. Rev. McBride was born in Canton and had lived in Cartersville for 30 years. She was employed with Marietta Drapery for over 40 years and was an ordained minister with the Church of God of Prophecy. Rev. McBride was active in the Acworth Church of God of Prophecy for many years and later in the Cartersville Church. She was a devoted wife and mother who loved her family, especially her grandchildren, with all of her heart. Preceded in death by her husband, Rev. William Jenning McBride, she is survived by her daughters, Judy Jones and Mary Davidson, both of Cartersville; sisters, Estelle Tapp of Acworth, Marylee Combs Pham of Forest Park, and Lillian Cottrell of Acworth; grandchildren, Christie Ramey, Angela Keys, Leslie Acree, and Jessica Williams; 6 great grandchildren, Camden, Baylee, Justin, Danielle, Makayla, Xavier and Breanna; 1 great great granddaughter, Addison and several nieces and nephews also survive.
