Loyal F. Harris, 85, of Marietta,  passed away December 25, 2017.  Services will be at Marietta Funeral Home located at 915 Piedmont Road, Marietta, GA  30066.  The viewing will be Wednesday December 27th from 5-8pm.  Funeral Services will be held at Marietta Funeral Home on Thursday December 28th at 2:00pm, with a viewing before from 12-1:30pm.  The committal service will be at GA National Cemetery in Canton, GA on Friday, December 29th at 9:30am.

A native of Corinth, MS but has resided in the Cobb County area for over 50 years.  He is retired from Cobb County Board of Education as an Administrator and was instrumental in developing the Vocational Departments within the school system.  He was also a residential homebuilder as well as various other trades and interest.  He was a member of Yaarab Shriners Kennesaw Mnt. Club and The Piedmont Lions Club.

Loyal will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Marjorie and his children: Cindy Barfield, Carlton L (Buddy)(Kim) Harris , Tammy (Brian) Whitmore  and Carol (John) Horney.  He also has 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.  Also surviving, sister Lorene (Lyman)Meador and brother Roy (Linda) Harris.  He is proceeded in death by his mother and father, BG and Velma Harris, his brothers: Thurman, Lealon and Dwayne and his sisters: Venona Pollard and Doris Fields.
