Kathryn Louise (Lou) O'Connell, age 62, of Talking Rock left this world and entered into eternity on June 12, 2018. She fought a courageous fight and although we miss her terribly, we are so proud of the life she lived and the legacy she leaves behind.

Lou was born on September 20, 1955 in Marietta, Georgia.  She was the daughter of the late Homer Gregory and Georgia Ledbetter Gregory.  She was also preceded in death by her sister, Velma Gregory Kendall formerly of Marietta.

Lou is survived by her husband of 34 years, Mike O'Connell of Talking Rock.  She is also survived by their children--son and daughter in law, Steve and Rebecca Thurman of Talking Rock and daughter and son in law Amber and Matt Cowley of Hale Center, Texas.  There are four grandchildren surviving--Katie and Joey Thurman of Talking Rock and Jacob and Caleb Merrimon of Texas. She also leaves behind many friends and loved ones as well.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 2:00 PM on July 8, 2018 at Living Word Church, 215 Pioneer Industrial Blvd., Jasper, GA 30143. All families and friends are invited to join us as we celebrate her life.

Lou loved her home and her family.  She adored the mountains and animals that surrounded her home.  It was her request that instead of mourning her death that we celebrate her life.  Although we miss her greatly, we know that she is at total peace in the presence of her Savior.

This is not a goodbye, but an I'll see you soon for us.
