Loretta Regan Irvin, 72, of Acworth, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.  A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 8th at 12Noon.  The family will receive friends from 10-12pm prior to the service in the chapel of Collins Funeral Home.  A private burial will take place at a later date.

Mary Loretta Regan was born to Robert and Doris Regan in Brooklyn, New York.   As one of six children, she lived in New Jersey until the 7th grade when her family relocated to Atlanta, Georgia.    She graduated from Cross Keys High School in 1969, and went on to attend the University of Georgia, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.  She completed her Master of Education in Behavior/Learning Disabilities at Georgia State University in 2002.   She had a fulfilling career as an elementary and middle school teacher, retiring from the Cobb County School District after 33 years as an educator.  She loved the water, she could save any plant and make it flourish, and she always cheered for her Georgia Bulldogs.  More than anything, she loved her three children, Chris (Nicole), Tricia (Carlton), and Kelli (Wes), and her six grandchildren Ryan, Daniel, Braden, Ella, Olivia, and Jackson.

She is survived by her three children, six grandchildren, and her four siblings Frank, Diane, Michael, and Jack.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren; her parents, Robert and Doris; and her brother, Robert Jr.

She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
