Linda Marie Johnston Grizzle, 74, of Acworth, passed away on Monday, February 29, 2016 after a valiant battle with cancer. Linda was born February 17, 1942 in Atlanta, Georgia. She was a member of New Zion Baptist Church in Acworth, and a devoted mother and grandmother. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Edward Johnston and Hazel Marie Moss Johnston, and by her aunt and uncle, Genie and Ben Davis (who raised her after the untimely death of her mother), by her husband, William Frank Grizzle, and by her daughter, Marie Sanders. She is survived by her son, Frank Grizzle and his wife, Linda of Acworth, by her step-son, Rex (Donna) Grizzle of Lanett, AL, by her step-daughters, Mary (Jerry) Ledford of Acworth, Teresa Hawkins of Calhoun, and Sharon Underwood of West Point; 12 grandchildren (including Zoe, Colby, and Aryana) and several great grandchildren; her brother, Luke (Millie) Johnston; her sister-in-law, Allene (Donald) Willis, and her brother-in-law, Earl Grizzle; her father-in-law, Cecil Brown; nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 2:00 Thursday afternoon in the New Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Dan Willis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Collins Funeral Home of Acworth is in charge of the arrangements.
