Mrs. Linda Blunk Fountain peacefully joined her Savior on July 18. 2018, at the age of 75. She lived in Acworth, Georgia and is survived by her husband, Talley Edward Fountain; her children, Eric Wilson Fountain (Sheryl), Sherri Fountain McLeroy (Greg), Karen Fountain Rack (Philip) and Douglas Edward Fountain (Annette); her 14 grandchildren, Mitchell Fountain, Lauren Fountain, Jonathan McLeroy, Kathryn Rack, Jessica Rack, Ashley Rack, Andrew Rack, Madison Rack, Peter Rack, Anna Rack, Emily Fountain, Isabel Fountain, J.D. Fountain, and Elizabeth Fountain. She is also survived by her sister, Randa Kay Rottschaffer (Bruce), and her brother, James Blunk (Lannis). Her sister, Carolyn Blunk and her parents preceded her in death.
Linda was born on February 7, 1943 in Port Arthur Texas. She married Talley Edward Fountain in 1964 at Fort Benning, Georgia. They had 4 children and set about teaching them to love the Lord. Her children remember her as a creative, fun, compassionate, optimistic, hospitable, spunky, giving, thoughtful mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals and live for the Lord with all their heart, soul, mind and strength. Her grandchildren will fondly remember her as their beloved "Granny Bananny" and "Gigi".
Linda was accomplished at serving others, leading women's Bible studies, creating beautiful works of art, faithfully loving her family and opening her home to others in hospitality. She was a generous individual who loved making home cooked meals for those in need and who was passionate about sharing the love of Jesus through her acts of service. She was an active and dedicated member of First Baptist Church Woodstock and often volunteered in their counseling department. Several of her volunteer efforts include: Precept Bible study teacher, Sunday School teacher, Women's ministry leader, Hospice Care volunteer, Boys Club of America volunteer and Cobb County School District PTA volunteer.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, July 20, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Marietta Funeral Home and Crematory, 915 Piedmont Road, Marietta, GA 30066. A funeral is scheduled for July 21, 2018 at Marietta Funeral Home and Crematory, 915 Piedmont Road, Marietta, GA 30066. Reverend John Pope will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Linda's life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The Gideon's at https://www2.gideons.org/donate for the purpose of disseminating Bible to others around the world. The Fountain family would like to thank family, friends and neighbors for joining them in celebrating Linda's beautiful life.
