Leland Southern, 93, of Acworth died Sunday, December 8, 2019.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Wednesday afternoon in the Chapel of Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Turner officiating.  Private family burial at Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery.  Mr. Southern was born in Ellijay but had lived in Acworth for most of his life.  He retired as a carpenter from Wilson Construction Company and was of the Baptist faith.  Surviving are his daughter, Shirley Ray of Acworth; son, Darrell (Kim) Southern of Jasper; grandchildren, Nathan and Joshua Southern and Brenda Ray; great grandchildren, Johnathan and Brandan Smith and Jozie Southern; sister, Irene Hale of Powder Springs; several nieces and nephews also survive.  The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service on Wednesday from 12:00 until 2:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home 4947 North Main St. Acworth, GA 30101 770-974-3133.
