Kathleen Patricia
Davis (Née Clifford)

Kathleen Patricia Davis (née Clifford)
August 28, 1930 – July 23, 2024
Kathleen Patricia Davis, 93, fondly known to her family as Pat, passed away peacefully at Tranquility Hospice at Kennesaw Mountain, Georgia, surrounded by her five children. She was born on August 28, 1930, in Swansea, South Wales, United Kingdom, the youngest of seven children of the late Michael and Winifred Clifford. She lost both of her parents at a young age and was raised by her loving siblings. She remained in Swansea through her adolescent years and experienced WWII firsthand, particularly during the Three Nights Blitz air raid in February 1941 when her family's house was demolished by an errant German bomb. Fortunately, Kathleen and her family had taken cover in a backyard bomb shelter. Later in the war, she was evacuated from Swansea to a farm in the Welsh countryside for safety.
Kathleen moved to London in the early 1950s and worked as a skilled tailor making gentlemen's suits. There, she met and married Fred Davis, who was serving in the U.S. Air Force in London. As a military wife, she lived in many locations around the world, including Germany, North Africa, and the United States, while being a devoted mother and raising five children. After parting ways with Fred, Kathleen spent her time on extended visits with her children at various locations and frequently visited her family in Swansea. She enjoyed traveling, listening to music and gardening. Throughout her life, Kathleen was an avid walker and enjoyed leisurely bike rides. Among her favorite foods were toast with lemon curd, Welsh Cakes, and a "cuppa" hot tea. She had a sharp wit and a dry sense of humor. Kathleen's faith was an important part of her life, and she regularly attended church services, quoted Bible verses, and listened to "Through the Bible" on the radio.
Kathleen spent her final years living at Gaines Park Senior Living in Kennesaw, Georgia, where she was surrounded by loving family and friends as well as dedicated caregivers. She was always grateful for the kindness and compassion shown to her by the staff and residents. She cherished the moments she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who brought her much joy and comfort. She also maintained close contact with her nephews and nieces in the United Kingdom, who kept her updated on the news and events of her homeland. Kathleen was a devoted and much-loved mother of Kathryn (John), Janet, Keith (Joy), Julie (Heath), and Jonathan. She was a dear grandmother ("Nannie") of Michael, Brian, Sarah, Beth, Stephen, Kevin, Rachel, Andrew, and Trevor. She leaves behind eleven great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her sisters Ruth and Chris, and brothers Jim, Mickey, Wilf, and Jack. She will be sadly missed by all her family and special friends who knew and loved her.
Kathleen will be laid to rest in her beloved Swansea.
