Obituary

?
Judy Starr (Julena) Hall, 76, of Marietta passed away on Sunday, July 15,
2018. Judy was raised in Greeneville, TN and attended the University of
Tennessee. In 1962 she moved to Atlanta, GA to work at Grady
Memorial Hospital for a short time, then she worked at Emory
University Hospital. In 1964, she began work at Western Electric (which
later became Lucent Technologies), where she was an Executive
Secretary and remained there until her retirement in 2000.

She met her husband, Robert, shortly after arriving in Atlanta and three
months later they were married. They enjoyed a long and loving
relationship.

In 1974, Judy became Julena and began a career in Middle Eastern
Dance, spanning 40+ years. Around that same time , she founded her
dance troupe, Dancers of the Harem, which grew and became one of
the largest and longest continually active troupes in the Southeast.
Julena brought together a family of dance sisters and daughters she
loved, encouraged and considers her most cherished legacy.

Another great passion was Julena's love for her dogs. She became a
member of the Happy Tails organization, which provides pet therapy,
by taking the dogs to visit patients in hospitals, nursing homes and
other facilities.

Julena is survived by her husband of 55+ years, Robert, her twin
brother Jerry Starr of Lake Toxaway, NC., Melody Starr, Beth Amos, and
her toy poodle Pearlie Mae.
