Johnny C. Townsend, 82, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023 at his residence in Acworth, Georgia. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, October 26th in the chapel of Collins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Rolling Hills Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening October 25th from 4:00 – 9:00pm at Collins Funeral Home.

Mr. Townsend was a resident of Acworth which he lived most of his life.  He worked as a fire fighter for Cobb County and retired after 25 years of service.   He belonged to the Masonic Lodge.

Mr. Townsend was preceded in death by his son, George Townsend and his daughter, Shannon Townsend.  He is survived by his wife Lois Townsend; sisters, Carolyn Ledford, Janice Cronic; Grandchildren, Robert Townsend, Daniel McCampbell and Katie Anderson.
