John Adams Justice's Obituary
John "Johnny" Adams Justice, 65, of Marietta, died Friday, November 27. Funeral Service will be held at Marietta Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 1 at 2:00pm.
John was born on January 14, 1950, in Logan, West Virginia, to John and Marion Justice. His grandparents were Mr. and Mrs. Everett Justice and Mr. and Mrs. BW Adams. His early childhood days were spent playing stick ball and tin-can alley with his cousins in the neighborhood streets of Aracoma, West Virginia.
As he grew older, John excelled both athletically and academically. He graduated from Logan High School where he was president of the Key Club and a member of the National Honor Society.
John met Judy while they were both working at Island Creek Coal Company, and they were married on December 10, 1971. Their daughter, Shauna, was born on August 28, 1978.
John's professional banking career led him from West Virginia to Florida and eventually to Marietta, Georgia. He was employed by SunTrust Bank for more than twenty years working in the IT Department. His dream was to return to Florida for retirement.
John's greatest delights in life included Stewart's Hot Dogs and his mom's peanut butter fudge and hot fudge. He loved rooting for Marshall, the Florida Gators, the Atlanta Braves and the Falcons.
His truest loves, though, were the Lord and his family. Judy, Shauna, Haley, Avan, and Skylar were his greatest joys. He enjoyed supporting his grandchildren in their activities. Whether it was Haley's cheerleading and music or Avan's baseball and gymnastics, he was always there for them.
John is predeceased by his parents, grandparents, and father-in-law, Rudy Moore. He is survived by his wife, daughter and grandchildren, his sister Dana (Greg) Russell, his mother-in-law Evelyn Moore, his sister-in-law Diane (Chuck) Greenwell, one nephew, three nieces, and numerous cousins, including Terry Delp whom he considered his sister.
He was a member of Mt. Paran North Church of God.
The family would like to thank all those who have loved and supported John and our family through the years as well as during his illness. Your presence here today is a tribute to both your kindness and his character.
