Joe David Austin, 84, of Dallas, passed away Tuesday December 7, 2021 following a long illness.  Mr. Austin was born in Acworth, Georgia where he lived his whole life.  He was a lifetime member of Mars Hill Presbyterian Church.  A memorial service will be held 11:00 am on Tuesday December 21, 2021, at Mars Hill Presbyterian Church with Dr. Bryant Harris officiating.  He is survived by his wife, Lee Hightower Austin of Dallas; step daughter, Amanda Cooper (Stephen) McFerrin of Acworth; grandchildren, Tyler Wood, Spencer Wood,  Levi Paul Cooper, Emily (Dustin) Brock and Daniel Cooper; 6 great grandchildren; brother, Jerry (Jeanne) Austin of Acworth; sister, Janey (Glenn) Alexander of Bartlett, TN; many beloved. nieces and nephews also survive.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Bertha Austin; brothers, Rogers, James and Jack Austin; sisters, Helen Scroggs, Asenath Payne, Ruth McMillian, Linda Waits and Betty Fouts.  A reception will follow the service at the church.  In lieu of flowers the family has asked that contributions and donations be made, in Joe's memory, to Mars Hill Presbyterian Church.  Collins Funeral Home, 4947 N.
