Obituary

Jody Ryan Harris- dedicated husband, son, father, papa, and friend to so many- passed away surrounded by loved ones in the hospital on Sunday, December 4th, 2022.

Jody was born to Richard and Frances in Duluth, Ga on April 18th, 1972. He graduated from Etowah High School in 1990. Jody met his wife, Brandy while attending there and working together at Bi-Lo grocery store in Canton. He then started his 30+ year career in the transportation industry as a mechanic and truck driver.

Jody and Brandy married on June 10th, 1990, and soon after welcomed their first child, Amber. In short work, the family grew to four with the birth of their son Austin.

Through the years, Jody enjoyed playing guitar, fixing cars, listening to music, being on the lake, flying RC airplanes and spending time with his family.

Jody and Brandy called the Woodstock area home for 8 years, then moving to Acworth in 2000 making that their home for almost 23 wonderful years.

His love for auto repair and anything to do with his hands became some of his number one hobbies. In the summers, he could often be found at the lake on the pontoon or flying airplanes in the sun with his buddies, while in the winters, he was buying and fixing cars(which he never kept).

Being a papa came naturally to Jody and the love he had for them was undeniable. His grandkids, Levi and Penelope loved his hugs and kisses, with the tickly scratch of his chin whiskers.

Jody is survived by his wife, Brandy; their children Amber and Austin; his two grandchildren, Levi and Penelope; his mother Frances; his aunts Elizabeth and Ann; his uncle Billy; his two brothers Todd and Don; his two sisters Angie and Rhonda; many nieces, nephews and cousins; Pets Mortimer and Daisy Mae.

Jody and his family wish to extend a special thanks to the dedicated staff of many doctors, nurses and medical staff who helped him along his journey.

Please join his family in a memorial service on:
Sunday, December 11th at Collins Funeral Home in Downtown Acworth from 2-4 pm (4947 North Main Street Acworth, GA 30101)

His friends and family are invited to share happy and funny memories and celebrate Jody's life in the way he would want to be remembered - as a loving, caring, funny man who enjoyed life to the fullest.
