Jimmy Kennedy, 68, of Acworth, died Friday, September 4, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 Tuesday afternoon in the chapel of Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Abbott officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery. A lifelong resident of Acworth, Jimmy served his country in the US Army in Alaska during the Viet Nam era. He was the owner/operator of Kennedy's Body Shop, Inc. He loved classic cars and restored many of them to perfection. Jimmy also enjoyed classic car shows, and drag racing. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Kennedy of Acworth; daughters, Lee Ann (Shane) Webb of Dallas, Melissa Deanna Kennedy of Cumming, and Kellie (Shawn) Jans of Clairmont; grandchildren, Tyler and Mitchell Webb, Brittany Leggett, Colton and Addison Jans, and Danielle Holcomb; sisters, Doris Truitt, Carolyn (Kenny) Gasaway, and Nancy (Tony) Hughes, all of Acworth, Hazel Collins of Dallas, and Annette Wigley of Acworth; brothers, Duarl "Tobe" (Ethel) Kennedy, Junior Ardell (Lynn) Kennedy, and Ronnie Kennedy, all of Acworth; several nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
