Jimmy Gene Curtis' Obituary
Jimmy Gene Curtis, 69, of Acworth, died Sunday, May 28, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 Thursday morning in the chapel of Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at 1:30 Thursday afternoon in the Georgia National Cemetery. A lifelong resident of Acworth, Mr. Curtis served his country in the US Army during the Viet Nam War. He was a retired employee of the Lockheed Georgia Corp. and a member of the International Machinists and Aerospace Workers Union. He was also a member of the Horace Orr Post #29 of the American Legion, Marietta, and VFW Post #5408, Acworth. Surviving are his children, Kellie Jean Caswell of Acworth and Trent Gene Warren of Dallas, TX; grandson, Will Caswell of Acworth; sisters, Virginia Hilton and Jewell Long, both of Acworth and Cuddell Ollis of Ft. Payne, AL; brother, Johnny D. Curtis of Acworth; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service on Thursday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at Collins Funeral Home 4947 North Main St. Acworth, GA 30101 770-974-3133.
