Jimmy Wayne Banks, Sr., 73, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024.  Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday the 10th at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Acworth, with the Rev. Rex Cox and the Rev. Ryan McElheney officiating.  Mr. Banks will lie in state from 12:00 – 2:00pm prior to the service.  A burial will follow the service in the Mt. Zion cemetery.

Jimmy was a Vietnam veteran with the Army.  He was a graduate from North Cobb High School and Georgia Tech.  Jimmy worked for 42 yrs. with Kennestone Hospital and was well thought of by his coworkers.  He never met a stranger and was very well liked.  Jimmy was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Jimmy was preceded in death by parents, Harold and Annie Ward Banks, Sr. and wife Doria Brown Banks.  He is survived by sons, Wayne (Sherri) Banks and Travis (Kasey) Banks; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sisters, Patti Banks and Evalyn McDougald; brother, Harold (Rachel) Banks, Jr.
