Jim DeCarufel, age 76, of Kennesaw passed away Sunday, February 5, 2023.

Mr. DeCarufel was born on August 6, 1946 in Pasadena, CA to the late Mr. Arthur Joseph DeCarufel Jr. and the late Mrs. Jean MacDougall DeCarufel. Jim retired as a Staff Sargent after 22 years of service in the Marines. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. After retiring from the military, Mr. DeCarufel worked for the State of Georgia as a corrections officers for over 20 years. Jim enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, cooking, going to drag races, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.  He was also proud to be a Marine.

Survivors include his wife, Darein DeCarufel of Kennesaw, his beloved dog Princess; children, Brian DeCarufel (Rachel) of Ellabell, GA, Stephanie Linnehan (fiancé John Derosambeau) of South Hadley, Massachusetts, and Crystal Langley (Jamie) of Ladson, South Carolina; two step-children, Kolby Speer (Charlotte) of Kennesaw and Brandy Wheeler (David) of Carrollton; siblings; Jeanne Stottlemyer (Frank), Bob DeCarufel (Kim), Steve DeCarufel (Shirley) Mike DeCarufel (Christina), and Mark DeCarufel (Vickie); eleven grandchildren, Alex, Atley, Aeralyn, Shannon, Byron, Logan, Jaxson, Kai, Branden, Bryson, Kameron, granddogs, Lolli and Maximusas, well as several nieces and nephews also survive.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, February 9, 2023 at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Collins Funeral Home with Dr. Richard Holden officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, February 9th from 12:00pm until 2:00pm.
