Jewell Dean
Bryans
Jan 18, 1939 — Sep 6, 2025
Jewell Bryans, 86, of Acworth, GA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September
6th, 2025. She was born in Summerville, GA, to her parents, Beulah and Clinton Dillard.
Both of her parents passed away before she was in school, and she moved to Atlanta,
where she was raised by two of her aunts. It was there that she met her future husband,
Charlie (Bud) Bryans.
Bud and Jewell were married in November 1957. They were together for 67 years
before Bud's passing in May 2024.
Bud and Jewell moved to Acworth in 1965 and raised their family there. Jewell was a
devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She leaves behind her four
children—Melissa Bryans (Mike Jascomb), Josh Bryans (Nonie), Ben Bryans (Anita),
and Jennifer Bodsford (Mark)—seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Jewell was an at-home mom for many years. After her children reached school age, she
began working in schools as a teacher's assistant. Later, she received her certification
as a Surgical Tech and worked at the hospital in Cartersville for 15 years. She retired
from this career to help care for several of her grandchildren. Jewell played a pivotal
role in the lives of several of her granddaughters.
She loved being outdoors, gardening, and bird watching. She passed these interests
down to several generations. Jewell was a very kind and loving person. Her home was
filled with warmth, love, and comfort. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome.
We will all miss her terribly but are comforted knowing she will now join her loving
husband and siblings in heaven. Jewell is preceded in death by her parents—Beulah
and Clinton Dillard; her siblings—Frank Dillard, Jack Dillard, and Ruth Hamilton; and her
loving husband, Charlie Bryans.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer
Society Hope Lodge in Decatur, GA.
