Jerry Tucker's Obituary
Jerry Tucker, 85, of Acworth, died Sunday, December 23, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 Saturday afternoon in the Summit Baptist Church with the Rev. Lee Gambrell officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery. Ms. Tucker will lie in state at the church from 12:00 until the funeral hour at 1:00. A native of Bronwood, GA, Jerry had lived in Acworth since 1950. She was a 1951 graduate of Marietta High School where she was inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame for girl's basketball. Jerry was a member of Summit Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Edward and Vesta Jennings Shaw and a sister, Margie Hardin. Surviving are her children, Richard (Sheila) Tucker of Huntersville, NC, Randy (Elizabeth) Tucker of Dalton and Lori (Steve) Blakely of Acworth; grandchildren, Seth, Zack, Mackenzie, Robert, Nicholas, and Alex; great grandchildren, Grace and Jameson; siblings, Robert J. Shaw of Sandy Springs and Carol Shaw of Acworth; several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 on Friday evening at Collins Funeral Home 4947 North Main St. Acworth, GA 30101 770-974-3133.
