Ms. Janet Marie Harris, 89, of Austell, GA, passed away on November 18th, 2023. Viewing will be held 11:00 am – 1:00 pm on Wednesday, November 22nd at Collins Funeral Home, Acworth, GA. A graveside service will immediately follow at 1:00 pm in Liberty Hill Cemetery officiated by Pastor Bryant Harris.

Janet was born April 5, 1934 to John and Esther Roberts in West Nanticoke, PA.  She moved to Acworth, GA in 1972 and is a long time member of Mars Hill Presbyterian Church. Janet was a trailblazer in an era where rights were limited for women. After high school, she traveled to Washington D.C where she worked in the Pentagon training new Navy recruits. One of those recruits, Andrew "Jack" Harris, became the love of her life and her husband for 53 years. He preceded her in death in 2010.

Janet is survived by two daughters, Glenda Woods of Austell and Karen Tarrants of Seymour, IN, Six grandchildren, Nine great grandchildren and Rascal, her beloved cat.
