Janet Marie Elam of Marietta went to be with God on September 30, 2018. She was 59 years old.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Marietta on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11am The family will warmly receive friends prior to the service at 10am. In addition, a reception will follow the memorial service in the fellowship hall.
Janet was born in Memphis, TN on January 16, 1959. Her family moved to Orangeburg, SC and then to Marietta, GA. Janet is survived by her parents Fred and Sue Elam of Marietta, GA and her brother Jeff Elam (and wife Jen) of Woodstock, GA. Janet attended Blackwell Elementary, J.J. Daniel Middle and Sprayberry High School. She worked at the Ponderosa Steakhouse and Ryan's Buffet.
She was an avid fan of the Osmonds and of Harry Potter. She was a collector of dolls and loved to shop. She was active in the Cobb County Parks Therapeutic Recreation program. Janet assisted her mother when volunteering with MUST Ministries. She was an active member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.
